WHAT IS AGELESS DESIGN?

Ageless design is a concept Ruby Slippers has developed to help people enjoy living independently in their own homes for as long as possible.

Ageless design takes account of ageing in an invisible way. It incorporates simple, smart design features to create a beautiful and stylish home environment that reflects the way we live today but ensures we have a safe and comfortable home for years to come.

Importantly, ageless design isn't about adding additional cost to your home improvements; it should actually save money - and the environment - by getting things right first time, avoiding the need for wasteful remodifications in the future. It just requires careful planning at the start of a project and knowing which products to specify.

Ageless design is a blend of America's ageing-in-place concept which is a more progressive look at designing homes for an ageing population; universal design - known in the UK as inclusive design - and accessible design; underpinned by a clear focus on style.

Ageless design is fully aligned with Scottish building regulations as well as Communities Scotland's Housing for Varying Needs guidance and the UK Government's Lifetime Homes standard.

Worried about the cost of making enhancements to your home? Consider then the cost of residential care estimated to be £700 to £800 per week - equivalent to £400,000 over ten years.
