Ruby Slippers introduces a fully customisable, genuinely level access walk-in shower room concept for installation in McCarthy & Stone bathrooms

Have you ever been told that it’s not possible to install a fully flush, walk-in shower in a McCarthy & Stone bathroom? Today (24 November 2010), Ruby Slippers Solutions Ltd, the ageing-in-place specialists, introduced its new wet-room style shower room product that would replace the bathroom in a McCarthy & Stone apartment.

The company has developed a fully customisable design specification, approved by sound engineers and building control, which provides for suitable floor-level drainage and maintains the required sound insulation level.  The design has been successfully installed in a McCarthy & Stone apartment in Inverness and the client is absolutely delighted:

The shower-room design allows clients to choose from a full range of sanitary ware, tiles, finishes and storage options. Every design includes a level access shower floor, with slip resistant floor tiles that dry quickly from the under-floor heating, eliminating the trip hazard that comes with ‘step in’ or ‘low level’ shower bases and providing for full commode access.   The shower  includes an easy-turn shower control positioned at the entrance of the shower to prevent an early soaking and aerated water flow for a luxurious, softer showering experience.

The basin is equipped with single-lever, easy-to-use tap; a mirror with built-in side illumination and a storage cabinet. The toilet comes with an easy-flush panel; a soft-close lid and a simple, but stylish paper holder that can be changed with just one hand.
