Ruby Slippers makes its Mobility Roadshow debut
09 September 2010

On Friday, 17 and Saturday, 18 September, Ruby Slippers, specialist in ageless design, is participating for the first time at the Mobility Roadshow at the Highland Centre in Edinburgh, stand D30. The event aims to give people with mobility problems the opportunity to review a wide range of possible solutions in a relaxed setting.

Finding stylish, individual ways to improve access around the home is a key part of Ruby Slippers' ageless design concept. And with people of all ages experiencing mobility issues, the business has extended its service to help anyone looking to create a more accessible home environment that clearly reflects their personal style.

Ruby Slippers is as committed to bringing style and individuality to accessible design as it is for ageless design. With good design, thorough planning and an extensive understanding of the best, latest products available worldwide, founder Lisa McMyn firmly believes her company can create beautiful, accessible, and individual home interiors where her clients will enjoy living independently for as long as they want:

"Good design doesn't have to be expensive either," Lisa explains. "There are plenty of mainstream products on the market that work well for independent living, from side opening ovens to drawer fridges. It just requires a little bit more thought at the beginning of the project to work out which products would best suit the needs and style preferences of the client."

Through partnerships with Stannah and Flow, Ruby Slippers is able to offer its clients designer stairlifts that deliver the best in functionality, reliability and style. The Flow stairlift even allows for customised upholstery so that it might blend better with the home’s surrounding decor.

During its first six months of operations, Ruby Slippers has enjoyed creating a beautiful new kitchen for a client in North Berwick and a new genuine level access shower-room for a McCarthy & Stone resident that replaces her existing bathroom. Three kitchens and another three bathrooms are on track for completion within the next few months including a wheelchair accessible shower-room for a gentleman in Edinburgh.
